The Employment Visa in Hong Kong is a special Working Visa or Permit that allows non-Hong Kong professionals to legally work in Hong Kong. Under the current policy, an unlimited number of Working Visa / Work Permit in Hong Kong are issued to foreign professionals by the Immigration Department of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) each year.
Foreigners who are currently working and living in Hong Kong, if you are changing to a new job with a new employer, there will be a "change of sponsor" to your Visa. In this case you will require to obtain a new Working Visa.

Eligibility
To be eligible for a working visa for Hong Kong, the applicant should not have any past records of serious offenses/crimes or security objections. The applicant must have proof that he/she is educationally qualified for his/her profession with certain skills, knowledge and/or experience that are not easily found in the Hong Kong job market. The applicant must also have a valid employment agreement/contract clearly stating information about job title, job description, remuneration and contract period.

An Approved Hong Kong Employment Visa
Whether the submitted application will be approved, it is determined by the applicant’s qualifications and/or work experiences, also his/her employing company. All submitted applications will be evaluated in detail by the Immigration Department of HKSAR. The validity period of an approved visa is usually for one year, and a working visa renewal in Hong Kong may be arranged accordingly.
Once the working visa application of Hong Kong has been approved, the applicant will be issued the “Entry Permit” label, which must be collected in person from the Immigration Department by an authorised agent who is a Hong Kong Identity card holder. The valid “Entry Permit” label is required to be affixed on a blank page of the applicant's passport when he/she is entering Hong Kong.
The standard processing time for a Hong Kong Employment Visa application is expected to be 4 to 6 weeks by the Immigration Department.
The Director of Immigration reserves all rights to approve or to reject an Employment Visa application. In the case when an application is unsuccessful, an appeal can be filed as a next step with the appropriate authorities.
Note to both employers and employees, a new Hong Kong Employment Visa is required if there is a change of employment.
