Business English

Course Hong Kong

The English language is the universal language in many professional fields around the world, such as, in medicines; science and technology; engineering; finance and the entertainment sectors, being good at English is a must if you wish to succeed in today’s dynamic business world.

You may ask, how is General English different from Business English? General English is the everyday English that uses mostly basic grammar and simple vocabularies, while Business English uses special terminologies relating to a specific field, that applies to a much more professional context and in a workplace setting.

Here are some of the reasons why it is important to be good through a Business English Course:

  1. The English language is the language of the internet, because most internet users are English speakers, as a result, most websites and social media platforms have content displayed in English.

  2. In today’s business world, many bosses would automatically expect job candidates to have a good grasp of the English Language. Having good Business English will undoubtedly help you land your dream job.

  3. Having good Business English will show your clients and your business partners (or perhaps even potential investors), that you are willing to go beyond basic business standards.

  4. In the workplace, having good Business English will help you to communicate with your clients and workmates better, improving efficiency.

  5. You will be able to deliver professional speeches and presentations, especially to clients and potential investors who may be from different countries and backgrounds.

  6. Having good English pronunciation and good English writing skills will make good first impressions.

  7. Having good English will give you the opportunity and flexibility to travel around the world for business.

Many non-native English speakers choose to study in a Business English Course in Hong Kong because Hong Kong is one of the world’s leading financial hubs, and many multinational businesses have their Asia Pacific head offices set up here in Hong Kong.

However, many Business English courses in Hong Kong are not officially recognised by the Hong Kong Government Education Bureau, so they unfortunately do not meet the application criteria for the Hong Kong Student Visa. Without a valid visa, this makes it virtually impossible for non-local adult students to live and study in Hong Kong.

At Boötes Consulting Services Limited, we offer a Business English Course (an intensive course in Hong Kong accredited by the Hong Kong Government Education Bureau) to overseas adult students to study full time in Hong Kong. A successful enrolment to the course will come with the Hong Kong Student Visa, allowing overseas students to live and study in Hong Kong for the duration of the course.
