Who Needs to Apply for PAR?

All Indian nationals holding an ordinary passport must apply for PAR before traveling to Hong Kong, except under the following conditions:

  • You have a valid visa or entry permit for Hong Kong.

  • You are a holder of an Indian diplomatic or official passport.

  • You are a Hong Kong Identity Card (HKID) holder.

  • You are a frequent visitor to Hong Kong with an “Notification Slip for Pre-arrival Registration for Indian Nationals” valid for your current trip.
     

For most Indian visitors, the PAR is a necessary step to avoid entry delays or denials upon arrival.

When to Apply for Pre-Arrival Registration

Indian nationals should complete the Pre-Arrival Registration at least four weeks before their intended travel date to Hong Kong. The PAR is valid for six months from the date of registration, allowing for multiple entries during this period. Each visit must not exceed 14 days, and visitors are not allowed to engage in employment, study, or establish a business during their stay without an appropriate visa.
