All you need to know about the “Hong Kong – Singapore" Air Travel Bubble



 

In early September, the Hong Kong government has started the discussion on re-opening the borders for residents from the below 11 countries, to help Hong Kong rebuild its economy: Australia, France, Germany, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, Switzerland, Thailand, Vietnam


The “Hong Kong – Singapore” Air Travel Bubble was previously set to launch at the end of November, however, as of 1st December 2020, this has been postponed and updates on a new launch date will be provided later by the HKSAR and the Singapore governments. And dates for the other 10 countries have not been set.

While we wait for the new launch date, let us go through with you the special arrangement under the “Hong Kong – Singapore” Air Travel Bubble...


Eligibility

  • You ARE NOT holders of Work Permits/ S Passes (issued by the Singapore Ministry of Manpower) who work in construction nor at the marine shipyard.

  • You HAVE NOT traveled to/ stayed at any countries and/or region other than Hong Kong or Singapore.

  • You have been tested negative for COVID-19 72 hours before your arrival in Hong Kong.

  • You are traveling to Hong Kong via a designated flight.


Before your trip to Hong Kong

  • Apply for Visa, click here to find out if you need to apply for a Visitor Visa.

  • Book your flight via one of the below-designated flights and airlines

  • Take a PCR nucleic acid test for COVID-19 at one of the designated clinics/ testing centers, 72 hours before your flight.

  • If your traveling to and from Hong Kong is only a short trip, as long as that you have taken a COVID-19 test by one of HKSAR Government’s recognized testing institutions 72 hours before your flight, you do not require to take another test in Singapore.

  • Complete and submit your “Health Declaration” online, and save your QR code. Note that the QR code is only valid for 48 hours.

  • Book your post-arrival COVID-19 test here.


When you arrive at Hong Kong International Airport

  • You will go through temperature screening, and please present your Health Declaration QR code to the staff from the Health Department at the Airport.

  • Take your post-arrival COVID-19 test.

  • Go through immigration and baggage-collection.

  • You will require to wait for your COVID-19 test result at the Airport, which will take approx. 4 hours. Test results will be provided to you by SMS and email.

  • Once you have your test result, present it to the staff from the Health Department at the Airport. If your test result comes back positive, the staff at the Airport will arrange to take you to the hospital for medical treatments. Those who travel with you will be sent to a center for quarantine. Please note, there will be a fee to pay for the public ward at the hospital.

  • When your test result is negative, you then go through Customs, and then you can enjoy your travel quarantine-free in Hong Kong!

Returning to Singapore

  • You must only have visited Hong Kong only.

  • Take a COVID-19 test in Hong Kong at one of the approved testing institutions 72 hours before your flight back to Singapore. Children under the age of 12 will not be required to be tested.

  • For Long-Term Pass holders, you are required to apply for entry approval from the relevant Singapore government agencies.
